5 Fully Fabulous Cocktails to Make During Quarantine with What You’ve Got at Home

We’ve even learned how to make do with what we’ve got at home, reserving those essential trips for true essentials. Yet one thing is almost assuredly essential during the pandemic…a good drink to unwind with. It’s stressful for all of us, but the good news is that you can turn your own living room into your own personal bar with what you’ve already got at home.

Sure, you could pop open a beer or bottle of wine, but this is more fun! Pull out your cocktail shaker, get your friends on FaceTime, and discover 5 quarantine-friendly drinks you can make right now with what you’ve got!

1. Rosé Slushy

What day is it today? Who knows, and who cares? You’re not going anywhere so why not pop out onto your balcony to bask in the sliver of sunshine with a rosé slushy? The perfect day drink for hot quarantine days, all you need is chilled rosé, lemonade, and ice in your blender. No lemonade? It’s still perfect!

2. Dirty Quarantini

If your fridge only has a jar of olives in the back, but your bar has vodka and dry vermouth, you can make the ultimate dirty quarantini. Mix 1.5 ounces of your best vodka with an ounce of that olive brine, and finish it with a dash of dry vermouth. Shaken or stirred, don’t forget to add some olives to make it fancy. You can also make it classic simply by leaving the brine out.

 3. Black Russian

Now is the time to put that bottle of Kahlua to good use. Pour it into your glass of choice with vodka and you’re in business. If you have milk or cream in your fridge, you can add that to make a white Russian.

 4. Lively Lemonade

Pilfer some of the kids’ lemonade for a good cause and use it to make a livelier, grown-up version. Choose gin or vodka as your spirit and pour over ice. Make it fancier with a little fruit garnish and you’ll almost feel like you’ve gone to your favorite bar.

 5. Dark and Stormy

Feeling a little doom and gloom about this quarantine situation? Grab a highball glass, fill it with ice, and then pour in 2 ounces of dark rum. Fill it up the rest of the way with ginger beer and throw a few dashes of Angostura bitters on top. If you’ve got lime, add a twist to give it a pop of citrus.

Pass the time with these easy drinks to make with what you have on-hand. Once things get better (and they will!), you’ll be able to show off your bartending skills in person with your favorite friends! Cheers!
